I said I'd do it and by golly here it is.  Well, some of it anyways.  Need to snag the rest from an old hard drive.  Here's what I've found so far.  All of the following is Copywrited.

Between Darkness and Light

A struggle.
Which way to turn.
Darkness in one direction,
Light in another.
To stay in shadows,
Or bask in the warmth of a new life.
Forever lost in confusion.
Torn between darkness and light.

Eternity

Sitting in a tree I watch you.
The wind catches your hair,
Sending it flowing back from your face.
Your neck is exposed now,
Pale white skin glowing in the moonlight.
My song brought you to stand here this night.
With lute in hand I play a song of sadness,
And you weep tears that come from the heart.
I play for you then a song of happiness,
And you weep tears of joy.
Then for you I play a ballad of love.
No tears have you left to cry?
Leaving my perch I join you,
Standing beneath the spread of the Old Oak,
And continue to play as I walk before you.
Though you can not see me I am always watching.
I am the night's song you remember singing with the coming dawn.
Some day you will join us in this bliss called eternity.

The Final Hour

A child cries out in the night.
He explains the nightmare that will come.
His mother tries to soothe his fears,
But his pleas of understanding ring of truth.
He tells of riders coming from the North.
A battle where hundreds are slaughtered in
cold blood.
Is this the prophetic child the King sought?
The Great War was but a fairy tale.
A warning bell sounds in the distance.
The messengers of the King ride by their
cottage shouting news of a battle to come.
Men rally outside their homes,
Swords raised high in anticipation.
The small child joins his mother at the door.
With tears in his eyes he asks she listen to
his thoughts.
Lifting him to her side he whispers to her,
We will fight and we will die.
God save our souls.

Forest Spirit

Alone in the night I sit; waiting.
Only God knows for what.
A cool breeze sends my hair flowing around,
The trees bend with the wind,
Soaking in the life it carries.
My life is only in darkness, though,
And in that I am alone.
No understanding of why I was created.
Through the limbs the moon shines full,
Beautiful light illuminates my body.
With arms stretched wide I reach.
To touch the moon would be a great feat.
Perhaps soon my Master will return to me.
He has been gone for ages now,
But he promised me life eternal,
So I shall wait for him.
The first stray rays of dawn can be seen.
Resting against the tree I pray.
Disappearing into the woods from whence I came.

Beloved Immortality

Before you I stand,
A slave to your power.
Soon you shall become a god among men,
And a leader among gods.
You are not the first to be turned,
Nor shall you be the last.
The new life I offer is among shadows.
Tonight I take the choice out of your hands.
Standing here I give you one last kiss;
The last for you as a mortal.
Never have two felt as we;
The calling out to the light from darkness.
I bleed my soul to fill your cup.
And as you raise the chalice to your lips I whisper,
There is no pain.
There is no fear.
Only immortality.

The Immortal Hunter

A hunter clad in black leather,
Velvet cape moving in the breeze,
Rides a dark stallion into the sunset.
His eyes hold knowledge beyond his years.
Portals into a world others only dream of.
The fates left him ages ago.
He is the only one left of his kind.
A sword of silver's strapped across his back,
Alone he is and must remain.
To love is only to hurt oneself,
For they will die some day and he shall live.
A cool breeze blows across his pale face.
What ancestor will cross his path next?
The villages come and go.
He is a savior to all,
But never remembered by the next sunrise.
Memories of bloodshed that never fade.
His gaze never falters from the path.
He is beautiful death.
The immortal hunter.

Pictures

Lives frozen in time.
Did these people ever really exist?
As you stare closer, the details are greater.
Each line and brush stroke a work of art.
Who's imagination did these characters come from?
Is there really nothing there?
Am I seeing only what I want to see?
Are everyone's pictures different?
Is the world just a blank canvas we build our lives upon?

_-=+=-_-=+=-_-=+=-_-=+=-_-=+=-_

Revenge

Lightning flashes.
A small child trembles in the rain
Clutching tightly to his mother's skirts.
Are the warriors to come back a second time?
Horses line the edge of the hill.
There is no place left to hide.
We have given them everything but our lives.
They care not for us, though, as thundering hooves charge down the hill.
No one screams in fear this time.
We all know what is to come.
Swords quickly cut down the village.
Person by person.
Life by life.
One child is left alone.
Only he will be the teller of these sad tales.
The warriors know not the revenge he will take upon them.
He has no more tears left to cry.

A Reminder of Times Past

The smell of baked bread fills the air.
Mother and I sit grinding corn on stone.
My father and brothers will not return until dusk.
Hunting is important in our world.
The beasts they slay give us life.
What ever is left is shared with the elders.
Though woman, the hunter’s spirit of man is in me.
At no time would I defy my family nor deny my place in this world,
But to go and hunt with the men would be such an honor.
To wield spear or arrow and provide for all.
I am woman, though, and I remain always at my mother’s side.
Daily tasks are performed without question.
Even my youngest sister at the age of two is learning and helping.
We all grow up so fast here in this jungle.
Your life is exactly like the family who lives within walking distance from you.
Things have always been this way and shall forever remain,
Or so the elders tell us.
Our civilization is immortal compared to those around us.
Where other hearts beat fierce and free, ours stopped ages ago.
Ancient is our people and our lives will reflect it until the end of days.

A World Without You

I sit here writing by the dim light of candles.
Your memory still fresh in my mind;
Your breath warm across my flesh.
My mind brings you back to me.
With eyes closed I feel you,
Running gentle fingers through my hair;
Breathing in my essence.
You had said you would always be with me.
The fates seemed to have had other things in mind.
I dare not open my eyes to find you gone.
With the softest touch you caress my face,
Fingers tracing my eyes and waiting lips.
I would give my soul for one more kiss;
One more “I love you.”
Yet now I hear the birds bringing the dawn.
Reluctantly my eyes open to a barren world;
A world without you.

The Dark Angel

Two dark angels...
Shrouded in darkness...
Locked in an unholy embrace...
Neither aware of the swirling mists that surround them.
And as the wind blows and the blackness looms closer,
One dark angel is left alone.
The angel wonders at the disappearance of its companion.
Then, in shear and utter realization, it realizes it is the other angel...

Blood

Hot.
The thick life which courses through your veins.
A taste that nothing else can duplicate.
The smell that burns through all the senses.
Wine given freely is always the best.
Force shall only hurt those whose life you wish to possess.
The hunger can only be satisfied in an instant,
But in that moment you are free.
Indulge in the pleasure of the hunt.
The peace you seek can be found only
In the taking of the innocent.
Your sin can never be forgiven, but theirs can.
Take only what is needed to survive.
We are the beauty they seek.
We are the drinkers of their souls.
We are vampyres.

Dream Warrior

I lie here next to you, watching you sleep.
The flicker of candlelight plays over your skin,
Caressing your body in its warm glow.
I run my fingers just above you skin,
Passing over yours eyes and soft lips.
Trailing them down over your chest,
I slowly wrap my arm around your waste.
Breathing in your warmth and scent,
I lay my head to your chest,
Only then realizing what you will never know.
The power you could have over me.
Your face contorts in your sleep
As you give out a muffled cry.
Raising myself up I gently kiss your forehead,
My fingers finding their way into your hair.
Into your head my voice echoes.
The nightmares will soon pass.
As dawn lifts herself skyward to mark another day,
So peace falls over you.
The night has passed and you with it.
No more will they torment you,
My dream warrior.

Endless

A dark, lush forest surrounds them.
A field closes the distance between them.
Two souls together for eternity,
Yet forever apart.

A panther the colour of the darkest night
Emerges slowly into the grove
Remaining just inside the shadows.

A raven matching the panthers’ colour
Comes to rest on a branch opposite the panther
Across the field.

Their eyes meet.
They have known each other for centuries,
And it has been the fates that have kept them apart.

What great sin could have caused this?
Only they know and their secrets
Are forever locked within.

Neither furthering their approach,
The panther comes to rest on the ground,
Closing her eyes.

The raven watches only for a moment,
Then rests his eyes.
He knows this ritual well.

A mist forms in the center of the grove,
Two forms emerging;
Male and female: human.

They no longer rush to hold each other
For it is not possible.
The fates have seen to that.

Mirroring one another,
They bring their fingertips in the air
As if to touch.

Their hands pass through one another
And so they step towards the other,
Passing through; spirit-to-spirit.

The cold of the grave causes both to gasp,
But when they reach where the other was standing,
Both are satisfied.

She reaches out her hand as if to caress his face,
Wisps of mist trailing her fingers along his cheek.
He feels the cold, but nothing more.

With dawn approaching, it is time they depart.
They no longer fight the inevitable.
He bows to her; she returns the gesture in kind.

Their forms are quickly enveloped within the dark mist,
Taking the two souls back to their eternal forms.
Neither able to touch the other.

Opening their eyes they take one last look.
It will be centuries before they will find one another again.
This is their punishment it would seem.

A tear is cried for both of them by a young girl,
Her dreams allowing her to see their torture;
Their endless desire for each other.

Departing into the forest, they both call out.
The panther her cry and the raven his.
Their love is eternal.
Endless

Freedom

The night calls.
You run,
Barely touching its edge.
Never close enough to embrace.
A surge of power urges you on.
Forever chasing the night that is
Locked within you.
Scream as you will.
Soon freedom will come.

Lilith

A girl dances slowly by the fire.
Skirts of many colors flow with her every move.
Her skin of the fairest cream gleams in the light.
Every motion is the telling of a story.
Eyes closed she sways to the music of the night.
Her beauty holds the attention of all.
Soft hair the color of a raven clings to her form,
Long and flowing.
The enchantment will not last forever.
Dawn comes soon.
With the glowing moonlight caressing her features,
The others move to follow her.
She is the mother of all that lives in the night.
Yet again the moon has come to reclaim her.
Dancing on moonbeams she ascends to the heavens.
Her music lulls her children to rest in the earth.
Soon she will come again to join them.
Lilith always returns with the full moon.

Longing

My heart cries out to you
My eyes weep for you
My arms long to hold you
Yet you never come.

I close my eyes and see you
Feel your breath on my neck
Your lips pressed against mine
Yet you are not really there.

Pillows absorb my tears
You should be here beside me
I live only for you
Will you ever come?

Mirror of You

I stand here in front of that ancient mirror.
At first only my reflection comes back to greet me.
The mirror shows different for everyone.
Then you appear,
As you have for so many centuries.
We stare at each other for what seems an eternity.
Many times I have visited you here,
Cloaked in the shadows of the night;
Far from spying eyes.
You stretch your arm out towards me,
Fingers outstretched as if we could touch.
I in turn touch the mirror,
The cool glass numbing my fingertips.
Palm to palm our hands are placed,
The mirror being the great divide between us.
We are an eternity apart.
Tears stream down my face,
My need to touch your warm living flesh nearly painful.
With heart breaking yet again I learn in to the mirror,
Body pressed against its cold face to try and bring myself closer to you.
We will never meet nor our lips ever touch;
The fates have seen to that.
Out of the still of the night I almost hear your voice cry out.
Screaming I flee into the night,
Echoes of your memory tearing me apart.

Release

I suffocate.
You can’t see what’s killing me.
It doesn’t want to be seen.
It’s in me now.
I guess you can only fight for so long before the black takes you.
Can you feel it too?
It’s power.
You will do what it wants.
There is no more control.
It’s the master now.
There is no pain, as promised.
There is no fear, as promised.
Nothing.
It doesn’t want anyone else.
I am special.
I had no choice but to give in.
It promised to take away everything.
There was no more fighting.
No more nightmares.
You must have sleep to have those.
All is well now.
It will protect me as long as I do its bidding.
I will let no harm come to it.
None must ever know lest it kill me from within.
You have been warned.
Stay away.
Speak of this to no one.
Somewhere I do care.
It longs to feed.
I must leave.
This is the end of me, yet it’s beginning.
Will I ever be released?

Sanctuary

Written is the word that all must follow.
Death to any that dare break our laws.
Our people are as old as time.
Our ways true to our own hearts.
We know not of evil in our world.
Peace amongst our brothers is what we strive for.
The Mother Earth our refuge,
We wonder over her in search of truth.
Knowledge.
The wisdom we gain from day to day is more
Precious than any gem or stone.
We are gypsies of the moral world.
Hear our songs and be hypnotized by the rhythmic
Dancing of our women.
Colors blending and hearts pounding,
She dances for you, and you alone.
Her eyes are portals into her soul.
You have become one of us.
Sanctuary.

Shadow Hunter

A tall man sits in a tavern sipping his ale,
Taking in all that is around him.
It is a warm night and the people are restless.
They speak in hushed voices, but never quiet enough.
Word has it a vampire is amongst them.
Many glances and even glares are directed towards the outsider.
Paying them no mind he merely smiles at those whose eyes he catches.
An illness seems to plague the people of the small town.
Weakness and delusions of shadows in the night they say.
Every day the folk become more suspicious of him.
Finishing the mug of ale, he stands and makes his way to the door.
One last glance around the room assures him that it’s time to leave.
The torches outside make shadows that play on his pale face.
Strong features give him an air of power and respect.
Covering his fiery hair with the hood of a black velvet cloak,
He steps out into the night, not sure what path to take next.
A wanderer of shadows is he.
With the moon guiding him, the wind urges him on into the night.
Pity the lost travelers who cross his path this night.
Ageless is this man,
For he is a shadow hunter.

Shadows

Do they follow you as they follow me?
If I did not know better, I would say it was I.
But it is so much darker.
So many secrets.
So many fears.
Even when I run, it chases after me, always at my heels.
When I stand still, it waits with me.
From certain perspectives, the one shadow multiplies.
Following in my footsteps, but never leaving their own footprints.
They mock me at night by candlelight,
And are always listening during the day.
They know my secrets.
They see the darkness within me.
They ignite my fears.
They try to seduce me into joining in their dark ways.
I feel them with me.
I will be like them soon.
One with the night.
Do they follow you as they follow me?

Song of Ages

We lie next to each other.
You run your hands through my soft, silky hair.
I gently cup your cheek in my hand.
We gaze into each other’s eyes.
Mine of an emerald green.
Yours of the deepest blue.
Our bodies warm the night air.
Silence clears our minds.
Our thoughts mingle.
Two hearts become one this night.
You take me in your arms,
Holding me against all odds.
You fear I will disappear with the remnants
Of the fading moonlight.
With a tear sliding down my cheek,
I hum to you the song of ages,
Lulling you to a peaceful sleep.
No memories will you have of me, my love.
Born of darkness and fearing the light,
I cannot stay in your arms.
Some day I shall return.
You could not understand now my torments.
My fears are all my own to bear.
I do this for us.
My heart shall remain with you always
Through the centuries to come.
We will meet again.
Perhaps then you will grasp what I truly am.
If only I could follow you into your death.
You are the light in my world.
I will protect you always.
I kiss your forehead lightly.
Slipping from your embrace I walk towards the window.
The night calls and the moonlight beckons.
Fading away,
Only the song of ages is heard in the coming dawn.
